At Lifesource, our specialized staff will harvest your stem cells from the bone marrow (aspiration) or from the bloodstream after the stem cells have been mobilized from the marrow (apheresis).  Harvested cells, from any source, will be processed to remove blood, and frozen (cryopreservation) to keep the stem cells alive until they are needed for your own use (autologous transplant) or for the use of a matched receptor (allogeneic transplant).  Stem cells can be cryopreserved for many years.
